Q: Is my Race registration considered fundraising?
Your registration fee helps to cover the cost of putting on the Race, but personal giving and fundraising is what enables Komen to save lives here locally. Registration fees do not count towards your fundraising total.
Q: What is the cost to Register for the Race?
The cost to register for the Race varies by age and which event you would like to participate in. Your registration fee includes a Race t-shirt, bib, and, if registered before September 8, packet mailing.
Race Registration Fees - All fees increase $5 at Packet Pickup and on Race Day
| Adult 5k Timed | $35 |
| Adult 5k Untimed | $30 |
| Adult 1-mile Fun Run/Walk | $30 |
| Youth 5k Timed | $25 |
| Youth 5k Untimed | $20 |
| Youth 1-mile Fun Run/Walk | $20 |
| Sleepwalkers | $35 |
Q: Does the Komen Race for the Cure® require fundraising?
You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just Imagine the IMPACT - If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional 1.2 million dollars to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community!
Q: Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
Yes! Up to 75 percent of the net income from the Race stays right here in our community to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports the Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grants Programs, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research throughout the globe.
Q: Where do I send donations?
Donations can be made by credit or debit card by clicking on the "Donate" page. Have checks and/or cash to turn in? Be sure to fill out an Offline Fundraising Form to receive credit for the donations you've collected and be eligible for fundraising prizes and awards. Donations received without an Offline Fundraising Form will be credited as general race donations. Please click here to download a mail-in fundraising form. Checks, cash and forms can be turned in at Packet Pickup, on Race Day, or mailed to the office. Fundraising will remain open until October 19, 2012. Any forms received after that date will be counted as general Race donations. Checks and forms can be made payable and mailed to:
Komen Tulsa Race for the Cure
5110 S. Yale Ave.
Tulsa, OK 74135
Q: Is there a deadline for fundraising?
All donations on your behalf that are received by October 19, 2012 will be credited to your fundraising total.
Q. What are some ways I can fundraise for my team/my individual goal?
We have plenty of ideas on our Fundraising Resources page!
Q: Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q: How do I form a team?
To be considered an official team, you will need 10 or more registered members by the morning of the Race. You can form a team or join a team online. For more information, contact Bria Bolton, Race & Special Events Manager, at (918)392-2745 or email bria@komentulsa.org.
